When the Icelandic volcano Eyjafjallaökull erupted in April 2010, many large airports were closed with major delays as a result. We helped our customers with their return flight home, while many similar insurance products did not provide cover this incident due to an ash cloud.

A group of students volunteered in Belize when they all of the sudden were involved in a car accident. We immediately sent someone to Belize to help with medical support and contacted the university and family members to arrange a safe journey back home.

When the Westgate Mall in Nairobi was attacked by masked gunmen, the AIG crisis team quickly arrived at the site. The team had during the conflict contact with officials, medical teams and families. The team ensured a reduction of media interest and protected the privacy of the wounded victems.
